We have a Franke drinking water tap in our kitchen. I'm not sure why the filters can't be purchased in common chain stores. I always need to go to a specialty store or do mail-order. Anyway, the last filter I had was not an official Franke filter. I wanted to try it. It did a great job of filtering, but unfortunately it lasted just a couple of months. Unfortunately, I don't remember the manufacturer's name. The real Franke filters seem to last for a full 6+ months, and that is what I'll buy henceforth. Water tastes MUCH better, and less chlorine smell.
