Flotec Heavy Duty Whole House Water Filter, Model# BF7 Review

Flotec Heavy Duty Whole House Water Filter, Model# BF7Purchased the Omni Filter BF7 whole house filter which I assume is the same as Flotec. After having this product installed I noticed a slight drop in water pressure (no big deal) but also that there was still rust in my water. My biggest complaint is when you actually have to change the filter.Fist time changing it was a pain but I was able to unscrew it. The next time, forget about it.After calling their customer service dept. for advice, they suggested such useful ideas as heating it with a hair dryer, using "extra force" and taking the unit down and use a vise to unscrew it.Are these people serious? Then of course it had to be my fault that I tightened it too much.Having installed many oil filters and RO water filters, I know the importance of not overtightening. So my only option now is to call a plumber out and have him take this thing out and place it where it belongs, the garbage. If you want top quality filtration products, go to freedrinkingwater.com and buy their excellent USA made products.(Note I am not affiliated with freedrinkingwater.com, but I own their RO unit which has performed flawlessly.

Moral of the story, avoid this crappy product.
