Intellitec WPT1000 Digital Water Purity Tester Review

This device measures one aspect of water.TDS (Total dissolved Solids).It bases the safety of your water on the probability that the more solids that are dissolved inthe water the more likely that it could have contaminants in it.Sure that probabilty works, but the fact is that all of those solids could be just iron, calcium, sodium, or other constituents that are not harmful at all.So this device could give you a reading that says your water is not safe to drink and in actuality it would be perfectly safe.But the scarier scenario would be that because it does not measure for bacteria, your water could have very low TDS and be contaminated with a deadly bacteria.The device could be telling you your water is safe to drink, but the water would NOT be safe to drink at all.

However if you use this device to test the effectiveness of your filter, then I would recommend this device.But i would not use this device to tell me if my water is safe to drink or not, too big of a risk.
