FMC103 DUPONT 100 Gallon Faucet Mount Filter Cartridges (3 Pack) Review

These Dupont Faucet Filter cartridges FMC103 & FMC300 are rip-offs. They are prone to premature rupturing, likely due to a manufacturing/design defect and will not last you anywhere near the life they claim. The bottom seam/weld of the cartridge is very weak and will not last the 100 or 200 gallons of life it's rated for. I have gone through three FMC300 cartridges (rated for 200 gallons) but in fact lasted less than 50 gallons of use, rendering them useless. The first sign of trouble is usually a slow drip from somewhere around filter unit; eventually it deteriorates into a gushing fountain.
Dupont Customer Service is aware of the problem with these cartridge. They told me both the 100 and 200 gallon cartridges have the same problem. If you call to ask for a replacement of a leaky faucet filter unit they will demand a dated sales receipt, etc. But if you tell them you have a defective, ruptured cartridge, they will send you a replacement, no questions asked. Obviously, they know the FMC300 cartridge is a defective product.
